CEMB’s Commitment to Sustainability
CEMB has been dedicated to environmental responsibility and sustainable energy since the 1990s, starting with the purchase of the Pian dei Resinelli hydroelectric power plant.
Over the years, we’ve expanded our use of renewable energy by installing solar panels across all CEMB facilities, generating a total of 12,686 MWh in the past three years. As a result, our plants now consume only 30% of the green energy we produce, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability.
BEYOND ZERO IMPACT
CEMB’s dedication to sustainability goes beyond reducing its environmental footprint—it actively contributes to renewable energy production, including hydroelectric power. Over the past three years, CEMB’s clean energy initiatives have prevented 4,566 tons of CO₂ emissions, equivalent to the annual output of 4,530 cars.
In 2020 alone, CEMB generated 5,000,000 kWh of clean energy, enough to power over 1,000 homes, while consuming only 1,027,137 kWh. These efforts reflect CEMB’s ongoing commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting sustainable energy solutions. By continuing to invest in clean energy, CEMB is taking meaningful action to fight climate change and further minimize its environmental impact.
SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS
CEMB is committed to reducing environmental impact by choosing sustainable raw materials and innovative production methods. One example is the use of rotational molding technology for weight trays in balancing machines—an eco-friendly process that eliminates chemical solvents and pollutants.
Furthering its sustainability efforts, CEMB now manufactures weight trays using 98% recycled and certified “Plastica Seconda Vita”, sourced from industrial waste and processed to meet strict quality and safety standards. By repurposing industrial waste, CEMB reduces reliance on virgin materials, prevents plastic waste disposal, and supports a circular economy. This initiative reflects CEMB’s dedication to responsible manufacturing, resource conservation, and minimizing environmental impact.
GREENER TOMORROW
CEMB is committed to sustainability across all its facilities, not only by producing clean energy but also by reducing overall consumption. Key initiatives include LED lighting upgrades, window insulation in production buildings, and a heat-recovery compressor for hot water usage.
To further minimize environmental impact, CEMB has introduced automatic rollers to connect buildings, eliminating the need for van trips and reducing emissions from internal transportation. With a continuous drive for improvement, CEMB remains at the forefront of industrial sustainability, constantly adopting new technologies to exceed environmental standards and promote a greener future.
